Over 1,400 protests against President Donald Trump and Elon Musk are expected to explode across all 50 U.S. states this Saturday, in what organizers are calling a fight to defend democracy from a “hostile takeover.”

The “Hands Off!” movement, backed by civil rights groups, veterans, women’s organizations, labor unions, and LGBTQ+ advocates, says enough is enough. Protesters will flood state capitols, federal buildings, city halls, and even Social Security’s headquarters. Their goal? A massive, undeniable wave of resistance.

Event flyers scream urgency:

“Whether you are mobilized by attacks on democracy, job cuts, privacy invasions, or assaults on public services – this moment is for you.”

Nearly 600,000 people have already signed up, with rallies also set to break out internationally.

The movement’s three crystal-clear demands:

• End the billionaire takeover and rampant corruption of the Trump administration
• Stop slashing funds for Medicaid, Social Security, and critical services
• Cease attacks on immigrants, transgender people, and marginalized communities

Trump and Musk’s Turbulent Reign

Since Trump’s return to office, with Musk installed as the head of the newly-minted Department of Government Efficiency, critics say they have bulldozed longstanding American institutions.

Thousands of federal workers have been laid off or terminated without warning. Musk, already infamous for aggressive cost-cutting at his companies, now brags about gutting USAID — America’s crucial international humanitarian arm — claiming he threw it “in the wood chipper.”

Foreign aid has been dismantled. Election protections have been stripped away.
And now, even the Social Security Administration, which supports nearly 73 million Americans, is reportedly spiraling into chaos after massive reorganizations and staffing cuts.

On immigration, Trump’s team has reignited deportation raids, proudly pushing mass removal plans — but not without embarrassing missteps, including the wrongful deportation of a Salvadoran man.

“Our communities are paying the price while the Trumps and Musks of the world cash in,” organizers wrote.
“It’s not just about money – it’s about power.”

Veterans. Kids. Seniors. Farmers. Immigrants. Trans people. Political opponents.
According to Hands Off!, nobody outside the billionaire class is safe.
